What Happened

The Darkest Day

On 14 February 2019, a convoy of 78 vehicles carrying over 2,500 CRPF personnel was travelling on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Lethpora, Pulwama in Jammu & Kashmir.

At approximately 3:15 PM, a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device rammed into one of the buses. The explosion was so massive it was heard several kilometres away, scattering debris over a vast area.

40 Central Reserve Police Force jawans made the supreme sacrifice that day — the deadliest terror attack on Indian security forces in decades. They came from every corner of this nation, united by their oath to protect it.
