Biography
Kartik Thakur was born on 21 March 1994 in Himachal Pradesh. He joined the Indian Air Force and graduated from the Air Force Academy, earning his wings as a pilot. He became known for flying advanced fighter aircraft and was stationed in Hyderabad. In September 2018, Flying Officer Kartik Thakur was temporarily transferred to Kolai Kanda near Kharagpur for additional training. On 15 September 2018, he suffered a fatal brain injury while swimming at a pool facility and tragically drowned. He was 24 years old. His funeral was held in his native Himachal Pradesh, attended by numerous officials, state ministers, and supporters who gathered to pay tribute to the young officer's service to the nation.
