Monu

Biography

Sowar Monu served in the Armoured Corps of the Indian Army. On 22 January 2026, while travelling with troops for an anti-terror operation, the armoured Casspir vehicle he was on lost control on the frost-covered Bhaderwah–Chamba road at the 9,000-foot Khanni Top in Doda district, Jammu & Kashmir, and plunged into a 200-foot deep gorge. He made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty along with nine fellow soldiers.
