Santosh Kumar

Biography

Santosh Kumar served as a Junior Commissioned Officer (Subedar) in the Indian Army. On 16 February 2026, while deployed at a forward camp in the Nyoma area of southern Ladakh — roughly 150 km from Leh — a water tank at the camp burst and caused a fatal accident. He made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The Chief of the Army Staff and all ranks of the Indian Army paid tributes to his sacrifice.
