Biography
Naik Ajit Singh hailed from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh and served with the Corps of Engineers, deployed with the 51 Rashtriya Rifles for operational duties in Jammu and Kashmir. On the night of 25 January 2017, a massive avalanche engulfed his battalion's post in the remote Tulail area of the Gurez sector in North Kashmir. He was among the soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the tragedy, serving the nation till his last breath.
