Biography
Sapper Amandeep Singh hailed from Kalloh village, Mansa District, Punjab. After completing his schooling, he enlisted in the Indian Army and was assigned to 114 Engineers of the Corps of Engineers, where he served approximately five years by 2018. During 2017-18, he was posted with the Border Road Organisation conducting operations in the Kupwara sector of Jammu & Kashmir. On 7 March 2018, while executing snow clearance duties on the Farkin Keran Road using a bulldozer, he was struck by a sudden avalanche. The avalanche did not give any time for evasive action. Rescue teams recovered him buried under snow and transported him to Base Hospital Srinagar, where he succumbed to his injuries. Sapper Amandeep Singh made the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation.
