Biography
Lieutenant Satbir Singh (IC-70145) was a valiant officer of the 12th Battalion, Maratha Light Infantry (12 MLI), Indian Army. He served with exceptional courage and distinction in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir under Operation Rakshak. For his extraordinary bravery and gallantry in the face of the enemy, he was awarded the Shaurya Chakra (SC) and the Sena Medal (SM) — two of India's prestigious military honors. Lieutenant Satbir Singh made the supreme sacrifice on 18 March 2009 while serving the nation in the line of duty during Operation Rakshak in Jammu & Kashmir.
