Biography
Manish Kumar was born on 9 April 1998 in Dochi village, Arki tehsil, Solan district, Himachal Pradesh. He enlisted in the Indian Army on 12 December 2017 and was posted to 6 Dogra Regiment. On 18 November 2019, Sepoy Manish Kumar was part of a patrol team operating at approximately 19,000 feet on the Siachen Glacier. An unexpected avalanche struck the patrol, engulfing all four soldiers — Naik Maninder, Sepoy Veerpal Singh, Sepoy Dimpal Kumar, and Sepoy Manish Kumar. Despite rescue efforts, all four soldiers made the supreme sacrifice. He was just 21 years old.
