Biography
Sepoy Lungambou Abonmai belonged to the Ariang Khunou Naga village in Manipur. After joining the Army he was posted to the 10 Assam Regiment of the Assam Regiment, an infantry unit drawn largely from the soldiers of the North-East. In 2020 his unit was deployed in the Poonch sector of Jammu & Kashmir along the Line of Control. On 14 June 2020, while defending a forward post near the LoC against a ceasefire violation by Pakistani forces, Sepoy Lungambou Abonmai laid down his life for the nation. He is remembered with deep respect for his courage and his devotion to duty.
