Biography
Lt Col Rajesh Gulati SM was a Qualified Flying Instructor and among the first pilots trained on the ALH Dhruv helicopter with over 1,000 flying hours. On 11 February 2015, during a night counter-insurgency mission near Bandipora, his helicopter collided with a ridge. He heroically maneuvered the aircraft away from the main hill but could not survive the crash. He was awarded the Sena Medal posthumously.
