Biography
Constable Amresh Kumar hailed from Bihar and served with the 134th Battalion of the Border Security Force deployed in anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. On 7 March 2018, a joint team of BSF and district police was conducting an anti-Naxal patrol in the Kilenar village forest under Rawghat Police Station limits in Kanker district. The patrol was ambushed by Naxal militants who triggered IED blasts and opened indiscriminate fire. Constable Amresh Kumar made the supreme sacrifice alongside Assistant Commandant Gajendra Singh in the fierce encounter that followed.
