Biography
Assistant Commandant Gajendra Singh hailed from Kharak village, Bhiwani district, Haryana. He was the son of ex-serviceman Motiram. He served with the 134th Battalion of the Border Security Force deployed in anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. On 7 March 2018, a joint team of BSF and district police was conducting an anti-Naxal patrol in the Kilenar village forest, about 10 km inside the jungle under Rawghat Police Station limits in Kanker district. Naxal militants triggered IED blasts and opened indiscriminate fire on the patrol. Assistant Commandant Gajendra Singh made the supreme sacrifice in the fierce encounter. He was cremated with full state honours.
