Biography
Rinkhil Baliyan hailed from Hapur district in Uttar Pradesh and served as a Sowar in the Armoured Corps of the Indian Army. He was on operational movement with his unit in the Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir. On 22 January 2026, the armoured Casspir vehicle he was travelling in skidded on the frost-covered road at the 9,000-foot Khanni Top along the Bhaderwah–Chamba interstate route and plunged into a deep gorge. He made the supreme sacrifice in the accident along with nine of his comrades. His last rites were performed with full state honours in Hapur.
