Biography
Lance Naik Mohammad Jawed hailed from Mararh village in the Khagaria district of Bihar. After completing his education he answered the call to serve and was enrolled into the Grenadiers Regiment, going on to serve with its 4 Grenadiers battalion. In 2019, his unit was deployed in the Poonch sector of Jammu & Kashmir along the Line of Control. On 10 June 2019, following a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops, Lance Naik Mohammad Jawed sustained severe injuries in the resulting fire and made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. He is remembered with deep respect for his courage and his devotion to duty.
