Biography
Rajesh Kharb was born on 12 April 1966 in Delhi and later settled in Haryana. He trained at the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, and was commissioned into 3 Grenadiers in 1987. A committed soldier and a fine officer, he served as GSO(3) Intelligence with an Infantry Brigade in Arunachal Pradesh. On 6 June 1995, Captain Rajesh Kharb was aboard an MI-8 helicopter on a reconnaissance mission over West Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh. The helicopter developed a technical failure mid-flight and crashed near Bello village, Yomcha subdivision. Captain Kharb and six others on board perished in the crash. He was 29 years old when he made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
