Yash Paul

Biography

Yash Paul hailed from Mantalai village in Chenani tehsil, Udhampur district, Jammu & Kashmir. He was the son of Shri Desh Raj and had one brother and one sister. He joined the Indian Army and was recruited into the Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment, serving with 8 JAK LI. He married Archana Kumari in late 2018. On 21 March 2019, Pakistani troops initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control in the Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district. While manning a forward post, Rifleman Yash Paul sustained grievous injuries during the heavy cross-border exchange of fire. He was rushed to a nearby Army hospital but succumbed to his wounds. He was 24 years old.
