Biography
Charanjeet Singh belonged to Kalsian village in the Nowshera area of Rajouri district and served with the J&K Light Infantry along the Line of Control. On April 17, 2018, Pakistani troops initiated unprovoked firing in the Sunderbani sector, triggering an intense firefight. During the exchange, Charanjeet Singh sustained grievous bullet wounds and was evacuated to Jammu Military Hospital where he fought for three days before succumbing to his injuries on April 20, 2018.
