Biography

Havildar Sheo Ram hailed from Tiba Basat village in Khetri Tehsil, Jhunjhunu district, Rajasthan. He enlisted in the Indian Army in 2000 and served with distinction for 18 years. Deputed to 55 Rashtriya Rifles in Jammu & Kashmir for counter-insurgency operations. Following the February 14, 2019 CRPF convoy attack in Pulwama, intelligence identified terrorists in Pinglan village, Kakapora. On February 17-18, 2019, the 55 RR along with J&K Police SOG launched a coordinated operation. During the fierce 20-hour gunbattle, Havildar Sheo Ram fought valiantly as part of the assault team. He sustained critical injuries and made the supreme sacrifice alongside Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal, Sepoy Ajay Kumar, and Sepoy Hari Singh.
